Month twelve of the one year project — the last tune, for the month of august, is: future plans.
JULY: absent constraint
Absent constraint is the tune for july, performed by the Vincent Sirius Quintet. For a change this track is recorded without a clicktrack, so no guiding metronome restricting the flow of ideas. Combined with the loose beat is a very improvisational approach to the soprano saxophone line. The tenor and the alto saxophone yell in between, in a style influenced by the legendary Fela Kuti compositions. The idea of this tune was sparked on a very hot friday night in the Vincent Sirius Recording Studios, enjoy!
